SPECIAL TELEGRAMS. Wellington, Wednesday. The Liquor Bill Tho Alcoholic Liquors Sale Control Bill got safoly through Committee of the House last night. Mr Buekland's amendment placing Bellamys under police supervision was struck out, Tho Club clause has been further addrd to by making t;ro Secretary of any olub liable for any breach of the Act, in the matter of remaining open after prescribed hours. It is not expected the Bill will survive tho ordeal of the Legislative Council. Public Accounts, The Public Accounts Committee are now dealing with tho proposals of tbo Midland Kailwny Company, It will be some time before a decision is arrived at, Tbo alteration of tho Public Works Statement [of 1892 is also still engaging 'the attention of this Committee, Tire whole matter has now assumed tho dimensions of h bitter party fight and it is said that the Minister for Public Works will have soino difficulty in explaining why he mado use of figures in his various election speeches during the recess, which he knew to bo incorrect.
