THE RAILWAY EMPLOYEES INSURANCE BILL.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association), Wellington, Monday. A deputation from the Railway Insurance Conference, accompanied by Mr MoKorrow, Chief Railway Commissioner, waited on tho Premier this morning to explain tbo amendments proposed by tbe Conference to the Bailway J nsarance Bill. Mr Seddon in reply said that he would object in 1010 to the proposal to allow tbe men to increase their contributions for the purpoßa of increasing the amount of their retiring allowances, as such a provision would bo entirely ' to the advantage of the best paid cien in the service. 'There weio many good features in the Bill, but it must be borne in mind tbat the whole Government service had to be continued, He would place ; the views of the delegates before bis colleagues and ask to get tbe proposals contained in the Bill submitted to actuarial computation. The Government would not aot hastily in a matter of uuch great importance.
