MASTERTON ROAD BOARD.
Ordinary Meeting, The regular monthly meeting of the Mastorton Road Board was held on Saturday last, Present-Messrs W, H. Beetham (Chairman), McKenzie, Cameron, Harris and Holmes, MINUTSS.' The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. WEST BUSH HOAD, Mr H.Jones attended to support bis application to be recouped to the amount of 255, for work done in removing logs from West Bush Road, and also to ask the Board to do some formation on the road during the summer. It was decided to allow Mr Jones £l, and to inform him that ho must not expend any more money on the road on the supposition that the Board will recoup him. WERAITB ROAD, A letter was received from the Minister of Lands, deolining to advise the proclamation to take the Weraito Road unless the Board pay compensation, whether it oan be legally claimed or not.—The Chairman at some length reviewed the circumstances of the case. IIHANCE. The Finance Committee's roport recommending that accounts amounting to £524 128 Id, be passed for payment, was adopted. engineer's befort, The Engineer's report was read, It was resolved to ask Mr Elkins to construct the protective work at thePotairau, promised by him some two years ago, and also that the Engineer be instructed to repair the Kopuaranga Bridge, no part of the cost to be charged to No 1 sub-division of .the district. DEPUTATION, Mr Mawley waited on the Board ro deviation of the Waugaehu road to round the big slip.
