CORRESPONDENCE.
The Church and Dancing, [To the Editor W.D. Times,] Sir.—When at Alfredton on Saturday last my attention was drawn to a paragraph in your paper under the heading " Pabiatua News," which is calculated to mislead, permit me (although some time has elapsed) a word in explanation. The paragraph reads thus, "Avery successful concert whs held on Tuesday last in aid of the funds for the Presbyterian Church organ. The hall was'filled. After, the concert was over a very enjoyable dance washeld to which about 25 couples remained." It is quite true a very successful concert was held... The Public Hall was taken by the Church Committee for the concert only, and I find that after ibis was over, the hall was retaken at bo much an hour by some )ther persons for the dance and that neither the mjnister in phjujenorthe
Ohuroh Committee had anything whatever to do with the dance, directly or indirectly. Kindly give this a place in' your next issue : . and , oblige, yours etc., W. Q. Wallace, : Presbyterian Missionary, Pahiatua. Pahiatua, 17th July, 1898.
