FIRE AT WANGANUI.

Wanganui, Friday,
A nine roomed house in No, 8, line, owned by Mayor Sominerville was gulled last night. Nothing was saved. Tho house and furniture were insured in the Standard for £BOO, The occupants of ibehoivo were aroused by the explosion of blasting powder, a small quantity of which was kept in tho kitchen for drying purposes, If it had not been for the explosion they mußt have been suffocated, eo rapid was the spreading of tho flames and dense smoking.
