Government Assistance to be Asked, ..■■■■ [By Telegraph.—frees Association).

A very large meeting was held here last night, at which sovoral resolutions were discussed, tho object of which was to uigo upon the Government (he great necossity of in some way assisting the Brunncr Coal Company to prospect for coal, »nd to prevent the mine being shut up, as four thousand peisous, directly and iudireotly, are dependent upon tho coal mines there, and on that account tho Company are deserving of generous treatment by the Government. The Government is also to he urged to construct a coal railway to Coal Creek.
