Timaro, Jane 28, The annual meeting of tho South | Canterbury Jookey Club 1 was held to-night. The report showed that £1429 15a, or J875- more than last year,hndbeen giveninstultes. Neither the autumn nor the spring meeting was a succeßs, The olub had to face a loss of £l5O ou the spring and £IOO on the autumn meeting, duo to the falling off in the totalisator receipts. The assets had thus been reduced by £123 to £B6B, as against £486 last year. Tho Chairman, Mr Rhodes, in moving the adoption of the report, said the olub had suffered in common with many other clubs in the Colony. It was decided to send a delegate to tho conference of country clubs, which is to be held at Ashburton,
