Monthly Meeting, The ordinary • monthly meeting of the North Wairarapa Benevolent Society) was held to-day, Present— Messrs W. H. Beetham (Chairman), J. Stuckej, W. Perry, E. Feiat, E. D. Dagg and B. T. Holmes. MINUTES. The minutes of the provious meeting were read and confirmed, FINANCE. The /tourer reported a credit bainjnßUl7s 5(1, and that two molPntrJpfrwro due from the United Distriot Board. Outstanding Accoonts, aa per schedule; amounting to MO Os 2d were passed for payment when funds permit, £lO was also passed to the imprest account. CORRESPONDENCE. From the Wairarapa North County Coanoil, nominating Mrß, T.Holmes to fill the vacanoy caused by Mr Galloway's reti'ement, Mr Guild, their previous nominee, having resigned, From John Cullen, Hastings, in reply to a question re W. Tait, From the Wellington benevolent Sooiety, stating that the correspondence in connection with the case of the old man, W. Eennall, was now in the hands of the police. Eeferred • to the Secretary to investigate, From Mrs. Yorke, applying for. clothing for'the boy, Albert King, This, and Mrs Jonneen's case was referred to the Doroaa Society. From Mrs Mary Johnßton, appli--1 cation for increased allowance on accjtfrt of sickness,—Her allowance waorereased to 10s a week. From Dr Hosking recommending casual relief to a man named Casley, ibrty»nine yeara of age.-Allowance made for one night's board and lodging; From Sergeant MoArdle, recommending Thomas ,Bpence, aged 62, for casual assistance,—Allowance made for one night's board and lodging, tait'soasb, Considerable discussion took place over Mrs Guntber'e account for board and lodging for the man Tait,—R,was finally agreed (6 alio* IBs a-week, the amount agreed npon for Benevolent Sooiety cafes, • OHAIBHAN. Mr B. was formally appointed Ohairwsn for the remainder of the current year.
