INQUEST AT MORRISON'S BUSH.
i (F Our Own -Correspondent,) An inquest was held at tlio Moni- • son's Bush Hotel yesterday, touohing ■ the death of the man who was found , hanging in Mr T, Ward's cowshed on ■ Tuesday last, before Mr T. Hutchison, i District Corouer. i The following jury was chosen : ' Messrs J. Hodge, jttnr, (foreman), J, Mclntyre, J. Beard, S. Polsen, W. Thompson, and T.Hodge. Mr T. Ward, farmer, of Morrison's ISush, deposed that at about 13.30 o'clock on tho aft'inoon of Tuesday, he saw a man hanging in bis cowbail. : T. Ward, junr, deposed that he cut , the body down. J, Wmte gave evidence that he last saw the man alive on Tuesday, His attention was called to him by his son i who said he appeared mad, P. Poison deposed that he last saw i the man on Tuesday. He asked for clothes, After he left witness' houee 1 he did not seem to know which way to go, He appeared to him to be of • unsound:mind.. \ i Dr Bey stated that he had examined the body and found the neck dislocated, H o should think that the man was about 45 years of age and of i the working class. ! Constable Eccleton deposed 'that ! he bad examined the man's clothes, « and found a letter from Mr Coleman ■ Phillips asking that the man be sent ' : to the Hospital. Nothing was known i as to the man's identity. ■ ! ■■' ■ After fully considering the evidence I tho following verdict was returned— i I "That the deceased committed suicide | while in un unsound state of mind," i . [We have since been informed that the man is supposed to be one Chtis, Peace, late of Filliß'circus.]
