WELLINGTON ITEMS.

(By Telegraph-Own Correspondent,]

Wbllinoion, Wednesday,

A wedding of interest to Wairarapa people is being celebrated here today, wherein Mr F. G. Kimbell, formerly of the Bank of Australasia, Masteiton,. and now of Napier, and Miss Gurr are the principals, whoso dpstinies and fortunes become united. The racent lire at the tf ult, which distroyed " Tredenbani," owned by the Misses Webb, nieces of Capt Jialdwin, has been the subject of a good deal of gossip about town, and all kinds of rumours are current as to the revelations wbioh may bo expected a', tho official enquiry as to its cause, which is to be held to-day. Mr James Aehcroft, our new official Assignee, will conduct the inquest, as District Coroner, this being his first duty in that capacity here. The projected Livery Stables and Horse Bazaar company, which is to absorb the old established business of Mr J. Lane, and also to build a new I repository, running through from Lambton Quay to Ballance Street, near the Drill Shed, seems likely to start under favourable auspices, and it is expected most of the shares will bo subscribed in the room at the first meeting. The proposal is to ereot a commodious and well-appointed building, wherein both horses and vehicles will be in every way up to date. Blacksmith" inland veterinary departments will probably be included, and tho front elevation of the establishment will permit of a saddler's shop and other similar premises on the ground floor. Messrs Robert Stansfleld and T. D. Edmonds, both of whom are erstwhile Mastorton residents, have entered into partnership iu Wellington as general commission agents, and inttnd, I understand, to takeout an auctioneers I license from Ist June.
