Ludwigson wrote complaining of the oveiflow of water on -to his property from the Kuiipuni creek, An application was received from Mr J, Henderson, to have bis name placed on the JDurgees Roll,' A report was received from the Inspector of Nuisances ro .tho overflow of the Kuripuni creek, and recommending that certain propertyholders bo called upon to clean out that portion of the stream flowing through their land, RESOLUTIONS. It was decided to grant Mr Henderson's application, that his name bo placed on the Burgees 8011. It was resolved that the Town Clerk carry out the recommendation of Mr Ingram, re Kuripum^jfefcr**', REPORTS. Tho report of the Gas Committee recommending the re-ereotiou of tho lightning conductor at the gas works was adoptsd. FIRE BIIIOADEB REPORT, The annual report of the Maetorton Municipal Firo Brigade MS retd, showing that during the past year twenty-five alarms havo been Bounded on the firo-bell against 30 for tho year previous, classed as follows Fires in buildings, five within tho Borough and one at the Mnnaia; chimney fkeß, 15 j false alarms, 4; and one gorße fire, The total value of the property which caught firo was . £B,GBO, insured to the amount of £2,480, of which £l,BlO was paid, the Brigade tliua saving tho insurance companies £1,120, Tho actuf damage to property by fire was £l,BBl, the owners actually losing £O2O above insurance, while the Brigade saved property to the value .of £1,749., The Brigade has now a memberßMkjl;. v three officers and 20Jr.emcn King stationed at the Central Station and two_ officers and 16 firemen at tho • Kuripuni Station, The 'Jubilee' is in good order and wil\ shortly undergo the annual inspection. The manual engine at Kuripuni with a new bo::, will last a longtime. A couple of long ladders are also required for the Kuripuni Station. The box reels at both stations ere in good repair. The total- length of. hose is 16080 feet, jOOO feet being in good condition and the rest medium, with 200 feet addiional hose which can be used iu.case tof smergenoy, The report direot3 the Council s attention to the scarcity of walor for the supply of tie' Jubilee' between the Prince of Wales' Hotel and Mr W. thi present stand«pipe being, useless , to the " Jubilee." Out oi' the Plant and Uniform Fund, twenty-five new uniforms have been ordered to provide every member at the Central Station with a tunic, the balance to be forwarded to Kuripuni. The duties of onginur to the -Brigade have been successfully performed, and the plant kept in excellent order.
