IsvERCARGiLL, May 12, Freeman iiitohen has be<;n arrested aj the Bluff, on board the Manipquri, bound for Moibou'rne, Hi* eyebrows wcro dyed red, and lio dented his identity, slating that hocauie from Henley in tho Taieri district,. .Later, : William Freeman Kitchen, who was captured to-day, was carefully got up as a sunburnt countryman, in shabby attire, and has Used cosmetic freely to alter the cut- u/tbo eyebrows. Detective Maddern was not sura of his man, but determined toriskliis arrest, Kitchen owned up on the way to town on .the train, Ho hail a bottle of chloroform and a pot of faco paint in his possession, 110 Fays ' : he- "walked;' to Moagiel, whero ho took a train to Invorcarglll and that he had been two days at the Bluff; ..The policedoubt this tale, being ofopinion that be left tho.train near Invercargill,. avoided tho town aud walked to the port. ... • .
