CiißisionuEc.n, May 12, At a meeting of the Sydenham Prohibition League to-night tho question of tho approaching election iii tho Sydenham licensing wards was considered, and tho following motion waa : passed 1 That in view of tho recent decision of the Appeal Court, which' practically disqualified temperance, men from sitting upon a .licensing, benob, and is tantamount to a declaration that the present licensing legislation fails tp giro, tho p'eoplo any effective control over the traffic in .intoxicants, ilio league has declined to take any action in Connection with tho approaohing licensing election, arid centre!, its efforts npon securing the immediate alteiation of the licensing law in tho direction of giving tho adult population of o.acli licensing district tho right to oxorciso the uncon« ditional power of direct veto over all forms of licenses.'
