MASTERTON MUNICIPAL FIRE BRIGADE.
Annual Meeting. The annual meeting of members of the Municipal Fire Brigade was held last ovening, a full muster being present and Captain Pickering occupying tbo chair. A good deal of general business was transacted, and the Annual Reports were read by Secretaries Pragnell (Masterton) and Pybus of the Kmipuni Branch, and-adopttd, The balanco sheet was presented, and showed a credit of £l9 19e to the Uniform Fund, and £2 12s to the General Account, Accounts to the amount of £2 9s lOd were parsed for payment, A hearty vole of thanks was carried by acolamation to th • retiring officers for the efficient marner iu which they bad carried out their duties for the past year, and Captain Picketing spoke in complimentary terms of the valuable assistance rendered during the year, The election of officers for the ensuing year resulUd as follows: (Central) Lieutenanto, A. Ewington; Foreman— B, Braggins; Assistant Foreman—J, Symes; Trenurcr— J, Bsuinbor; Secretary—E. Pragnell; First Branehman-T. Gilpin; Second D. Jackson; Third—H. Ewington j Fourth—P. Murray; Messenger H, Marsh (re-eleoted). Kurupuni BranchLieutenant—8. Sheppard; Foreman-P, Hunter; Secretary— T. A, Pybus; First Branchnm-H. KasmusEen; Second -H. Greatbead j Engine Keeper H, Hewitt j Messenger—J.Braggins, Honoriariums were voted to Fireman Marsh, £2 2s; and 10s to each MessoDger. It was also decided that a donation of £5 ha voted to (he Kurupuni Branch, Before closing a hearty voto of confidence was unanimously accorded Captain Pickering for his able services and impartiality in cod. duoting Brigade business, A rote of thanks to the chair concluded a very enjoyable evening,
