FATAL GUN ACCIDENT.

.Blenheim, April 28.
News reached town at aliout 5 o'clock this afternoon of the death, by shooting, of Mr Wliiinoy Griffiths, at the residence of his parents, Whitney street. The deceased wont home at about 2 o'clock, and was seen by several just biforo ho went home. Ou getiing to the houso he saw a blackbird, and proceeded to get a gun. To do so he had to got through the study window, tho door key not being available. In his jumping from tho window the gun struck the ground, tho concussion of which caused tho gun to explode, the result being that ho was shot through the forohead, Death is believed to have been instantaneous, Dr, Alexander w«s soon on the spot, but he could do nothing, and returned to town with Mr 0. 1 P. Griffiths, who at once proceeded to see Mr Allen. Wn understand that an inquest will be hold to-morrow, The deceased was a popular member of the Blenheim City Rifles, and was a member of several looal olubs.' His parents and relatives will have the sympathy of nil Blenln-ini in thoir bereavement,
