Wanciaxw, Monday, : Mr George Hutchison, in addressing the electors at Maxwelltown on Saturday, night, said that Mr Balance .was. entitled to tho greatest. credit for.' the' largo surplus, and-' ho • hoped tho Treasurer Would bo able to tako his . seat nextsession, Ho deprecated the way in which tho press had spoken about tho Premier's success, orwken no occasion presented itself, opposed- tlio State Farm at Waverloy, on the ground thai it was. not- fair to . bring men from other parts of tho Colony, to copa with the settlers of. tho district,- Ho; favoured tlio Minister of Public Works haviug a seat with the Kail*, way Commissioners, aa tho electors wero justly entitled to representation hUheir control on the co-operativo principle, in public works. Commenting on', the' iAVomens 1 . Franchise he said that probably next session would bo too late to expect a great change to take effect in time for the General Election.
