PRESENTATION TO MR N. GRACE.

Wellington, Friday. On tho Hutt racecourse yesterday afternoon, Mr Bell, President, on behalf of the Wellington Racing Club, presented Mr Nat Grace with a valuable gold chronometer, in recognition of his long and honorary services as steward and starter to the club, He spoke of tho many excellent qualities of tho recipient as a sportsman, and eulogised his firmness and uprightness, The public and Club had the utmost faith in Mr Grace in the discharging of his official duties, and ho trusted that in his new position as timekeeper for the Glub he would still retain that confidence which had made him one of the most popular sportsmen in Wellington. Mr Grace, who was evidently taken by surprise, made a neat speech in roply, in which he admitted that ho took the utmost interest in all matters pertaining to sport, and would give his services freely where he could advance those feelings, Mr Graco was congratulated on all sides, and the remaining races he timed with the new chronometer, which wa3 specially imported from England, The present will he suitably inscribed,
