PICNIC AT MAURICEVILLE.

Tho Mauricevillo East Annua School Pionio was held yestordaj (Friday) in the paddock kindly lent by Mr (J. Guuderson. The children, under tho supervision of the Committee, airueed themselves by running races and othor games until noon, eaoli obtaining a prize, when they eat down to a oapital lunch provided by that capable caterer, Mr M. Jensen, assisted by Miss Jensen. A good many adults were preßent in the afternoon, and more games were played, young and old indulging freely. Mr and Mrs Uhisholni, Miss Franlilyn and Miss Jensen, were conspiouons in their efforts to keep the youngsters amused, and. sucoeeded admirably. Tea was provided at live o'clock, after whioh prizes were distributed as follows :—Standard Vl—Tora Gunderson, William' 'sen, Sarah McKenzicVj Standard V.- mes Anderson, Mina Larsen, Jdiuos liislioliu. Standard IV—Amy Forsberg, Louisa Larann, George Jagerhorn, Standard 111Peter Larsen, Frauk McKenzie, John Neilson, Standard ll—Maggie McKenzie, Edith Pearson Charles Johanuon. Standard 1. William Peterson, Peter Neilson, Bernard NeilßOn. After the prizes had been givon an adjournment was made to tho old Bchoolhouso and a danco for the children started, It was entered into with spirit and kept going merrily until about nino o'clock, One might tra?cl a long way without seeing such a pretty lot of little dancers as wore gathered in the old Bouool last night, The day will be long remembered by tlie young people of Maurioeville as a very happy one. After tho obildren had gone home the older people took possession of the floor and danced until an early hour this morning, to excollent music provided by MeBBTS Larsen Bros,, Robert Frauklyn, C, Forsberg and others.
