Our special sale of cattle at the, Manterton yards yestorday was generallyconsidered a decided success, although the prices for calves and yearlings were not quite up to late quotations, full values in our opinion were obtained. One thousand five hundred head of all classes were quitted under the hammer, and realised the following prices ;-8 and 4 year old well grown good conditioned bullooks, L 6; 8 year old steers, L26s; 2 year do, 74s to 80s; 18 months, 45s to 545; good store cows to 86s; forward cows, 97fl 6d; ordinary cows, 57s fid to 725; quiet heifers to 746; dairy cows, 80s to 100s; yearlings, 45s to 57s 6d; woaners, 25s to 86s.
