Johnson v. Alsen. Mr Acheson for plaintiff. After hearing both parties, judgment was given for plaintiff for £2 costs 14s, Mt Deller now left the bench, and the following cases wero heard before Messrs W. Booth and Jas. Baylisa, J.P.'s. Taratahi- Carterton Road Board v. A, S. Grant, Claim for rates. Judgment by default for amount claimed with costa 18s, Taratahi-Carterton Road Board v. C. Harris. Mr Beard for plaintiffs, Mr Pownali for defendant. Claim for rates £lO 0s 2d. After hearing evidenco of tho defendant, judgment was given for plaintiffs for amount claimed with costs 20s, solicitor's fee 21s. ALLEGED LARCENY. W. W. Rising v. A, Baggerly, Mr Middleton for complainant, Mr Beard for defendant. The information alleged that the defendant did on the 13th March inst., feloniously take away certain things from the shop (which the complainant had been renting from the defendant) to thi' valuo of 30s, Constable R. Darby deposed to finding two books in the premises of tho defendant, which the complainant laid claim to as belonging to bim. The complainant being an undischarged bankrupt the Bench did not think themselves justified in accepting bis statement as to tho ownership of the f>aid things. There being nothing thereloro before the Court to prove bis ownership, the information i was dismissed with solicitor's fee 21s.
