TEMPERANCE QUESTIONS.
[By Telegraph.-Press Association]. Donedin, Friday. The Prohibition League has passed a motion expressing disapproval of the action of Government in declaring tlio Sydenham wurds separate licensing districts, believing it to bo in» expedient to defeat the expressed wishes of the people. The Weslevan Conference received a deputation from tbe various temperance organisations yestorday afternoon. An address was presented dealing with the liquor traffic, and concluding by expressing gratification at the gracious act of the Conference in relieving the Rev. L, M. Isitt to allow him to devote his energies to securing the direct veto.
