Mr F. H. Wood reports of the Horse Sale held by him at Featherston yesterday under instructions from Messrs H. flume and W. Bucker--1 idge as follows There was a very large attendance of buyers from all parts of the district, and some from Wellington, The sale on the whole, must, however, be considered flat. Bidding was far from spirited and a good many were passed in, There was a good demand for carriage horses, hunters and weight carrying hacks, Those offered yesterday wore rather light and small with a few exceptions. A 4 year-old colt of Hume's was sold for LiO, chestnut yearling fully LBO, other young stock IromLlO to Ij2o, brood mares, with foals from Ll2 to L4O, On account of Mr Buckeridge, draught mares sold at L 25, and light hacks and yearlings from LlO to Ll6, 48 iiuinens was offered, but refused, for bay horse Jimmie and the entire horse Melrose was passed in at 100 guineas.

Messrs Lowes and loms report tho largest salo of the Boason yesterday, when twenty thousand alioep were yarded besides cattle and pigs. At the commencement buyers in view of tho largo number to be offered were rather timid, but on the sale progressed, confidence was established, the result being a successful sale, over 17,000 of the 20,000 were disposed of, and for all good sound slieep the prices were equal, and for good, young ewes superior to previous sales, there is an evident determination on the part of buyers not to touch old crocks, their experiences of late in that description of stock having been very disastrous. Wequoto for young ewes, 11a to 12s, good pound breeding ewes 7s Gd to 10s, lambs 6s to Bs, culls 2s fid to ss. A number of weak weedy lambs were offered but could not find a purchaser. Jat wethers 12s lOd, fat ewes 9s to 10s 2d, 2-tooth store wethers 9s to 10a 3d, Cattle are without quotable change, The firm will surely test the cattle market by holding a special sale on tha 29th inat, when they will offer about 1000 head, of mixed ages and sexes. Tlieir list for next general stock sale on the 22nd is rapidly filling up.
