A terrific gale with heavy rain lassed over here yesterday. The
rivers are much higher than thoy have beon for a considerable time. At Tutaekara, yesterday afternoon tho Mangatainoka overflowed its banks, The road was under water for several chains.
Mr McCardle has determined to stand for the Masterton electorate and will adopt the Prohibition ticket, The suspected murder of Jaoobson
tookplaco in the Maogahao, not Tutaekara, Hambrook who packed their goods lives at Tutaekara hence the statement that the deed occurred there. Detective Herbert has been here making investigations, but has now gone back to Wellington, The whole affair is .still involved in mystery, I
