Suspected Murder in tlw Bush

The man Aldridge, alias Smith, who has been arrested in Melbourne for the larceny of goods belonging to his mate, Jacohson-a widower with three children-resided at Danevirke nntil about two years ago. He will be oliwged with murdering Jaeohson when ho is brought back to Pahiatua, Constable Cooper leaves for Melbourne on Friday next to identify Aldridge. Tho men were engaged busbfelling on Hambrook's property at Tutaekara when Jacobsou disappeared. Evor since foul play Las been suspected. A few weeks ago Jacobson's remains were found by Constable Cooper, and au actiug detectiro who had been sent up to investigate the case, discovered and kept the matter secret until Aldridge's whereabouts was ascertained.' When the charge of larceny was preforred against him, evidence of his disposing of goods known to have belonged to Jacobson was obtained,
