SAD SUICIDE.
Blown Up With Dynamite. (By Telegraph,—Press Association]
Wesiport, Wednesday, .David Bennett, aged between 50 and CO years, an- old roiidont of this district, committed suicide in bis hut at Waitnangaroa yesterday. He had been drinking lately, and left his companions with the remark that he intended to blow his head off. An explosion wai heard in his hut, and Bennett's body was found lying on the hunk with his head almost com < pletely blown away. The deceased had apparently inserted a dynamite cap in liis mouth andexploded it. He served In tho Navy during tho Crimean war. A few years ago he lost an eye by an accident.
