ACCIDENT AT AWAIERE.

Blenheim, January 23rd, A serious accident occurred in the A watere district yeßiorday, by which «Mowat (2) and Misses Johnson o thrown over a bank 16 foot The horses shied and jumped ver. Mr Konnoth Mowatrooeired a severo fracture of the skull, and bad an arm and ribs broken, blood issuing from both ears. Ho is hardly likely to recover, Mr A, Mowat lub ' injuries to the collarbone and ribs, Miss Johnson met with a nasty sctlp wound, and her sister has a contusion of the hip. Dr Alexander reports that tho last-named thrco are out of danger,
