Auckland, Tuesday

The Earl of Buvford arrived hero to night, having ridden on horseback from Napier against time. Flo made a wager with Wm Proffitt, bootmaker, Napier, of £3OO that ho would rido the distance from that town to Auckland, 300 miles, in GG hours, and leaving Napier on Sunday morning at six o'clock, he reached Auckland tonight at seven o'clock, thus performing the journey in G1 hours. He had fresh horses at various points of the road.
