LAWN TENNIS.

Masteiton v. The present contest, it might be mentioned, is the first which has been played in Masterton on this system of counting—that is, by an aggregate nuuibor of points computed straight on, instead of by the total number of sets and the players seemed to be well satisfie| with the change, as being a fairer and more convenient form of assessing results. Appended are the detailed scores:— Ladies' Singles.—Miss B, Rutherfurd v Miss Wardoll, 70-65; Miss M, Eutherfurd v Miss Pay ton, 41-70. Gentlemen's tiiNOLEU.— Mr E, iluthoilurd v Mr l l '.
