In the affiliation case heard to day, the defendant produced a deed duly drawn up in legal form, showing that by the payment of £SO, ho had been released by plaintiff from all further responsibility, in rogard to the paternity of the child. Counsel for tho plaintiff, while admitting that his client received £SO, contended that it was not a sufficient discbarge from future liability, as was set forth in section 14 of tho Dentituto Persons Act, 1877, that no deed relating to compromise in any affiliation caso is valid unless sanctioned by tlioß.M, Mr Robiiißcn, R.M., uphold this contention, but adjourned tho case to allow of a compromise to be arrived at between the parties.
