Senator ut, Rebellion.
After the Masterton-Opaki races yesterday a match was arranged betueeu Mr P, F, Tancred's Senator and Mr J, Freeth'a Rebellion, to run a three-quarter mile race on the Opaki course for £IOO a side. • A condition was made that either [ horse failing to put in an appearance at tho time appointed, viz,, 1 p.m today (Tuesday) should forfeit £2O. Mr W. Hirshberg was appointed starter and Mr A. W. Cave stakeholder and judge.. A very large number of sports assembled to witness the race, great interest being evinced in the result, which proved Rebellion to be the best of the two, and landed him home au easy winner by three-quarters of a length.
