THEATRE ROYAL.

■"Our Boys." ■* The Masterton Theatre Koyal was : occupied last evening by Mr J. Bar- ' nard'e Dramatio Company, and the rise of the curtain was greeted by a very fair house. The comedy of" Our Boya" is not new to a Masterton audionce, and therefore did not attract tho orowd that a new piece would ■ assuredly have done. The company is composed of some of the best amateurs Wairarapa can produce, and the cast was a strong one. Mr Marshall, aB Perkin Middlewick, was tbe life and soul of the piece, and ho aoted a heavy part in a masterly manner. Mr Wigaby as Sir Geoffrey Ohampneyr, MrLynwood as Talbot Ohauianoys, and Mr Clark as Charles Middlewick, each sustained their parts with marked ability, Of the ladies, Miss Eichardson as Mary Melrose was undoubtedly the best, and tho success of the piece is in a great measure due to her fine pourtrayal of the character, Miss Sutton as Violet Melrose also made herself a favourite with the ■ r audience, and Miss France as Clarissa *. Champneys, and Miss Chapman as Belinda, each played well, the latter especially taking a humorous character, with considerable ability. The minor parts, taken by. Mr Taylor and Mr Herbert as Kempster and Poddies respectively, made up a cast the general merits of which was beyond the amateur average, A comic after-piece, entitled " The TwoTbompsons/'completed a lengthy and interesting programme, and sent the audience home in excellent humor.
