MR BARNARD'S COMPANY IN "OUR BOYS."

■There is nothing like finishing a holiday pleasantly, and those who make Monday next a " day out" will be able to wind up their festivities with a highly entertaining evening, if 'hey go to the Theatre and see the. play—or, rather, tho two plays —provided for their divorsion.

Mr J. Barnard, of Greytown, .. who has long been known as 1 an enterprising entrepreneur, has this time got together fromyarious quarters a high-class coincdy company for our special benefit and offers to Masterton playgoers a capitally choson double bill. " Our Boys" is so well known to fame that it is unnecessary to enlarge upon itsattractions-aplay which ran for over-a thousand nights in Loudon, Iras a very fair chanco of amusing us here. But the cast announced by Mr Barnard is good enough to call for some notice. The role of tho pompous baronet is in tho hands of Mr Wigaby, who is a woll- : known exponent of old men's parts; and Talbot, bis heir, (an inimitably funny delineation), will be made the most of by alight comedian like Mr Leslie Linwood, That sterlingiactor, Marshall, lakes the splendid low comStf character of the retired butterman, Perkyn Middlowick ; while the "vory superior person, ' his sou 1 Charles, will Lopresented at his best by Mr 0. W Clark, As to the ladies, -jjliss Clarissa Ohampnejs, an irnpul--7 eivo old maid, will find a humorous representative in Miss Franco; and Violet Melrose, the heiress, will, if we mistake not, bo vory attractive in tbo bands of Miss Minnie Sutton. In Miss Richardson the company bas a leading lady, who will get great fun out of the part of the impecunious and witty Mary Melroso; while, as for Belinda tbo slavey, Miss Bertio Chapman bas quite made this character herowu, We congratulate Mr .Barnard on having secured the services of this highly capable company; and since he always stages his pieces well, wo can safely prediot a great treat for our neighbours on Boxing Night. Following " Our Boys," we are to have a screaming farco called "The Two Thompsons," Hero Mr Barnard himself will be in evidence, for, with the versatility which distinguishes him, he will play no leas than four distinot parts—after the fashion ol our old acquaintance Grattan Biggs, in "Tlio Irish Detective." We ' observe, by the way, that photographs aro now on view in some of the principal shops of Masterton, which give an idea of the diversity of Mr Barnard's delineations. Taking it, then, all through, wo can hardly imagine a inoro attractive bill than that which Mr Barnard is providing for us at this fostivo season, and we adviße playgoers to bo in good time on Monday night, since there will undoubtedly be a crowded house.
