Ekktahuna, Wednesday,

The two-year-old daughter of Mrs Coolt, of Newman, was very severely scalded yesterday by a bucketful of boiling pollard fulling ovor her. A |ietition is going round the district protesting against ike erection of a tollgato on the Pahiatua road. Abuut sixty ratepayers have already signed it.

A deputation from the Stirling S.ii, Association will wait on the Minister of Lands on Friday next with reference to several matters connected with the block.
