A Scotchman's Philosophy.
An old Scotchman is said to havo risen in a prayor-iLeeting one nistlit and apropus of nothing, delivored himself of tho following remarks: " There aro threo things I never could quite understand, First, why boys will throw sticks at green apples when, if they waited, the apples would ripen and drop off; secondly, I never could quite comprehend why men go to war to kill each other, when, if thoy remained quietly at home they would die a natural deaib in good time; thirdly, and must important of all, I do not see why tho men chase around after tho women, sinco, if they sat still, the women would run around after them." How true that doath comes to all men, to some so prematurely, who neglect tho warning symptoms of approaching disease, such as a tired aching foelin? in tho morning, headaohea and nervousness, Bour taste in the mouth, 4c. All these aro signs that the physical body is deranged and that if treated lightly, sorious danger is to be apprehended. Alfred Saunders, Esq., Octagon, Dunediu, says:—Cleraentß Tonic and Dr Fletcher's Pillb cured me of nervous debv'ity after I had consulted < tan medical men, and spent over f?0O on thoir fees and medicines, The advertising quacks robbed me altogether. It is disgraceful that the law allows tho depredations of theso harpies. 1 can honestly recommend Clement's Tonic, It must bo good. Mine wai a bad case, as mi'st of the doctors here can prove. Of oouiho 1 had to take a long course, but that was to bo expected, for I had been terribly humbugged, but 1 am at last restored to health and strength solely by Clomont's Tonic '
