FEATHERSTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

Monthly Uleeting.

The usual monthly meeting of the Featherstou School Committoe was held last'night, thero boing present Messrs J. G. Cox (Chairman), W. Toogood, W. Benton, W. Hoddcr, C, Cundy, Mr M, B. Tait was present for a few minutes, but could not stay as ho hadjust come over from Kaitoke The minutes of the previous ordinary meeting had been read and confirmed at a special mooting. The head master reported that tbe school tanks needed attending to and that there waß a bad-leak in tbe roof at the residence. The school had progressed favourably daring the past month. Mr Toogood, visitor for the month, reported that a broken poßt in the school fence had been stayed up and was now seouro. The tank frame needed staying, This matter was left in the hands of tho Chairman. The Inspector's report was read. It has been decided to postpone the sohoolconcert indeGnitely. The head-master thought it would be better not to give prizes, but to buy some books for the school library. A letter, rather warmly worded, from Mr Pope was read, thanking tho Committee for their vote of censure, stating that coming from suob a committee he considered it a compliment. As tie Seoretary (Mr C. Keys) has forfaited his Beat through nonattendance, Mr W. Seed will be requested to take his plaoe as a i member.
