MAURICEVILLE ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the Manricevillo Road B»ard was held on Saturday, tho 2flth November, Present ; Messrs C. Forsberg (obairman), P. Anderson, and J. Bannister. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed and correspondence outward, Correspondence inward was read, from the Commissioner of Crown Lands ro future proceedings to be taken in applying for thirds. g- From the Commissioner of Taxes *re nlteiation in Valuation Roll. A commnnioatiou was received from the Alfredton Road Board intimating that it would join the Mauriceville Board in raising a loan for ihuraua Road, and requesting the Mauricevillo Board in the event of the loan being raised to undortako the work. - This, it was decided to do, and the Clerk was instructed to write to . tho Alfrertton Board to that effeot. Mr Jons Bigvertsen Bent in bis resignation as Ranger, which was accepted, and Mr J. W, Anderson having applied for the post it was decided to appoint him conditionally, upon his appointment being approved by the County Council. Mr H. W. Jackson wrote, tendering his resignation as a member of the Board, owing to the state of his health preventing him attending the meetings, His resignation was accepted with regret, Mr Jackson having ocoupieda seat on tho Board uninterruptedly since tho District was Jeparated from the Masterton Disrict. No deoision was come to with regard to the alteration of the boundary line ot the District, no communication bavins been received from some of the settlers who are interested, The matter was therefore left open till next meeting, Cheques amounting to £149 15s Gd were passed for payment, Rates collected since last meeting, £1712s lid,
