Ou Thursday, the 24th inst, I was driving on the Kukatau road, 1 saw the deceased with some other ladies in company with MrDellerin a waggonette. I waß close behind thai. I saw the horso which Doller was driving attempt to make a bolt, I saw something hanging ,to the horse's beels, which turned'out to bo the shaft, JlrDeller, in | trying to pull the horse up, put his fqot on the brake, overbalanced himself and fell out. Dr. Johnston deposed!, I am a duly qualified medical practitioner residing iu Carterton. I wad. called to see the deceased on Thursday Inst at 8 p.m. I found her cold and clammy, suffering from a shock and a concussion of the brain. J only examined her head. 1 found a oontusion about the size of a hen's egg on the|>ack of tbo head. Judging by the position I should say that the deceased, must hare fallen backward. I consiaor the deceased came by her death b/iooncussion of the brain, followed by. extravasation of blood. ) The jury brought in a verdiot according to the doctor's ovidence.
