PAHIATUA NOTES.
(From Out Own Correspondent.) The annual meeting of the Pahiatua County Council was held at noon on Wednesday last, all the Committee being present, the business being the election of Chairman. Cr Bolton was re-elected unopposed, A heavy thunderstorm passed over this district on Wednesday afternoon, about four o'clock Some of the oldest settlers say it was one of the heaviest that has beon experienced years. Information has been laid against Mr Snazello.under the Police Offences Act, for charging for admission to a concert on Sunday evening.
The Knights of Labour intend holding sports on Boxing Day, and should the weather prove fine, should be a great success. Somo £6O or £7O will be given away in prizes, which is very good for the first year, It is their intention to hold an annual gathering. . Mr J. Vile, our energetic coach proprietor, has secured the mail contracts between Bawera and Opunake, and Opunake and New Plymouth, and will commence running at tbe first of the New Year.
