CORRESPONDENCE.

The Late Fire, [to hie editor, wairakapa daily TIMES.] Sir—Mr Carey waited upon me re the delay of water at Mr Natusoh's fire, which was in your report of yesterday's issue. As captain of the Masterton Volunteer Firo Brigade and Inspector of Fires, I can say there was no delay whatevor, as one of our men who is living close by cut the gate loose and then came to meet the engine, and we were first at the water,—l am, etc, B. Hounslow, Captain M.V.F.B, and Fire Inspector. , (You also reported that we wore ■wo minutes later than the M.M.F.B. ufi getting water on the fire. That is wrong, as we were only two seconds,)
