Mr Parsons occupied the chair, '*\ In opening his addivsg, bo said ihe people of E'tetaliuna seemed to thiuk that tbe price oE wat Bold by the lnoal butchers was too high, If they were not tatisb'ed let them go in for co-operation, Mr Slieehyu told tbe meeting that be had asbd thelochl butchers what price they Would charge him for meat and on being told 'ld per lb delivered, at camp, ho \wnt to Pahiutua and got bis mem tor Bjd. Mr Selby got upjand said that they had to pay the 6ame price in Puhintua as the people did in Eketahuna. 4. Mr Turner then B»id that if the Cooperative Butchery did start in Eketahuua, be would be only too glad to Bell out to them at valuation and charge nothing for the goodwill, Mr Sheebyn moved that a Cooperative Butchery be started in Eketahunn. Mr Selby seconded tbe motion. Mr Von Red in asked on what plan this co-operative business was to start, /and what amount of capital would be Inquired. vMr Sheebyn said they proposed starting with a small capital, of £2OO, and if ihe business prospered to go in for a larger capital, the shares to be £1 each. The Chairman then put it to the meeting, and no one present responded. The proposal therefore foil through.
