Nature teems with hidden secrets, which, if discovered and applied to practical use, would be of inestimable value to men. More especially is thia tbccaso as rogarda preparations for healing the many and varied " ills that flesh is heir to," The March of Science, with irresistible force, is laying bare, day by day, secrets long hidden in the breast of Dame Nature, Where JNatnre flourishes in wild and rich luxuriance, as for exaraplo in the marvellous vegetation of this Colony, there is the field of the botanist and tho chemist the wider, and there is the scope for research the greater. Advantage has been taken of this fact by a sister of a religious order, one Mother Mary Joseph Aubert, who has, after years of study, succeeded iu producing from New Zealand herbs those preparations known as the " Aubert Kemedies," which have now become household necessities.
