ALFREDTON ROAD BOARD.
The Alfredton Road Board met on NoYOmbor sth, Present—Mossra H. Dunn (chairman),'J. H. Groves, Cecil Kebbell, S, M, George and Holmes Warren, Correspondence was received from the Commissioner of Taxes giving a list of properties sold since last valuation. W. J. Avnaboldt wrote re Anderson's work authorised hy the Board to the extent of £3, Also re unauthorised expenditure on the Pah Valley road. The matter was held over, J, Medell sent in a claim for £lss for work doue, The Clerk was instructed to enquire if this was included in the £6 applied for. The Bank of New Zealand wrote, acknowledging tho receipt of thirds, |£B9 Isßd l andrates£32 3s2d. The Assistant wrote re Tiraumea bridge plans, Tho Clerk was instructed to write to Mr tiremner, asking if Mr Baker has made any communication on the subject, Wairarapa North County wrote requesting £3O from Tiraumea ward, towards maintaining the road, Tho amount was passed for payment, A petition from certain settlers on the Mangaono Valloy and Pah Valley roads, requesting tho services of the County engineer was received. It was resolved that the County Council be mitten.to requesting theEngi. neer'B services. Messrs Judd and Gleeson wrote asking the Board to join with Mauri, icevillo in raising a £7OO loan, The request was agreed to, and it was further decided to ask the Mauricevillo Road Board to undertake the work in the event of the loan being raised. A special order, striking a special rate of 7d in the £ for the PoriUoad, was confirmed, A general rate of U in the £ was also levied, and various special rates. ' Notice was.given of a special order, striking a special rate of 4 l-80th pence in the £, to be confirmed at next meeting. Tho Chairman was authorised .to expend £9 on Tawataia Road, in repairs, The Clerk was instructed to call for tenders for Pori Eoad works if a favourable reply was received ro Tiraumea Bridge. Tbo Faymeut tilieot lor £l3 Is was passed, Messrs C. Kebbell and S. M. Georga were appointed to sign cheques. The next meeting will take place on December 3rd.
