4 November 8, Wo held the opening Bale in our new yards at Okaiawa on Friday, the 28th ult., and arepleased to state that it was a complete success throughout. Being a very ftoe<iay a large number of buyers attended and more stock coming forward than was anticipated our yarding accommodation waß taxed to its utmost. The bidding was spirited throughout and nearly .every, lino of stock changed hands under the hammer, We quote forward bullocks:—Ls 17s 6d to L 5 19s; 2 to 8 year old] steers, L 3 8s to LI 12a; 12 to 18 months steers, L2 6b 6d to L2lßa; springers and cowl and calves,

L 4 10s to"L6 10sj store cows, L 8 5s Gd to L 3 lis; 18 months heifers, L27s6d to L2lss. Our monthly Horse Fair was held in tho Union yards on Saturday, the 29th ult. There was a large entry of horses, some useful draughts and weight carrying hacks being amongst the number. Tho draughts all found a ready sale at satisfactory prices, but owing to no outside buyers present tho hacks wero slow. A great many horses changed hands at the following prices-Draught and heavy cart horses £l2 6s to £l7 ', trap horses £8 2s Cd to £lO 2s Od; medium hacks £4 17s 6d to £l2; " weds" £1 and upwards. We had another satisfactory sale in the Glover Boad yards, Hawera, on Wednesday, tho 2nd insl, the pens being well filled with cattle of a good quality, though no sheep were entered for sale, The attendance was not large, though every lino was well competed for, so that scarcely any stock left tho yards unsold. We quota fat and forward bullocks £slos to £6 2s; 2to 2iyear old steers £8 9s Gd to £4 ss'; 12 to 18 months mixed cattlo £2l7s, fat cows £4 18s to £0 2s 6d. During the week we disposed of several large lines offat stock privately at prices ranging from £6 15s to £7
