THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL APPOINTMENTS.

Wellington, Tuesday, The Timeß, referring to the- objections raised that Messrs Walker and Bigg come under the Disqualification Act, says that Mr Walker is no lon', gcr a contractor within the meaning of the law, us his work for the Land and Income Tnx Department was finished and paid for. Mr Rigg, as a printer in the Government office, does not receive a salary according to the definition of a civil servant. The latter was formally congratulated by his fellow workmen, at a social gathering last night.
