FEATHERSTON TOWN BOARD.
(From 0«/' Own Gompondnit,The adjourned meeting of the Featherston Town Board was held on Monday night, there being presentMessrs W. Candy, (chairman), G, W. Reynolds, W. Hodder, and J, Beat. A letter was received apologising for the absence of the Treasurer, Mr A. Donald, ou whose motion (lie meeting had been adjourned. A letter was received from Mrs Annie Hodder, withdrawing her tender for the lease of the water reserve. Applications for the office of ranger wero received from Josiab Abbot, J. Crawford, and Thomas Sheen, Mr Hodder moved that tho appointment of the ranger stand over until next Board night, As there was no seconder the motion was was withdrawd. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Beal, that the applications received bo rejected, and that fresh applications be called up t07,80 pm, on Monday, 17th, in which applicants must state the salary required, with the whole of tho driving fees added. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Reynolds, that the Board meet next Monday night to consider tho appointment of ranger, in committee. It was resolved that specifications be drawn up and tenders lie called for the formation of eleven chains, more or less, full formation, and ten chains, bait' formation, on Brandon-street, and five chains, full formation, on Woodward-street, The Board made a tour of inspection during tho week. The drains in Brandon-street had been attended to, and Mr Fellingham's paddock had been somewhat relieved of the water with which it was Hooded. Mr Cundy siated that the culver! near Mr Steffert's needed attending to.
