COMMERCIAL.
Mr D. Orewo reports that at his stock sale at Pnbiatua, held on Weduesday, a fairly good quality of stock came forward. The weather was all that coald be desired and the attendance good, most of the cattle were looking very poor, owing doubtless, to the prolonged, severe, cold and IB wet weather, Many of the lots were passed in oiring to the high reserves placed on them, but ultimately were sold privately. The following prices vera realised Good forward bullocks, (large), £6 15s; 2 year-old f irs, £8 Is 6d ; dairy cows (calf at t) £5 ; ditto interior, £503 to 80s; mg piga 10a; light harness hack, £i. Thus it will bo noted there is a downward tendency in all classes of live stock, On Saturday last a salo of clothing, furniture etc., was held at the mart. Tlio attendance was large and bidding spirited in some instances. On tho . , whole a fairly good sale was effeoted and many good bargains were obtained. Another sale will be held at the mart on Saturday next.
