Concert at Morrison's Bush.
(From Our Greytown Correspondent). A very successful concert was held in the Morrison's Bush church on Wednesday evening, in aid of the Presbyterian Ohuroh Improvement fund of that place, The church was paoked with a very appreciative audience, including visitors from Maryborough, Feathers ton, and a large numbor from Greytown, two brakes, and several private vehicles having tun from that township, Mr F. fl. Wood occupied the chair, In opening remarks he congratulated *the trustees on the outward appearance of the church, it having just been freshly painted, and a neat picket fence erected, as well as a number ot ornamental troes planted, He stated that as the programme was a very lengthy one consisting of- twenty<-eight items, encores would have to be dispensed with. He hopod that tho audience would he as quiet as possible, and thus greatly aid the performers in their endeavours lo please, The following programme was gono through, in a very praiseworthy manner, reflecting no small amouut of credit on those taking part, tho applause for every item being loud and prolonged Overture, Greytown Or- , chestra; song, "Liberty Hall," Mr J. Baillio; popular airs on the Basonicas, Messrs Duff and Jonsen; song. " Supposing," Miss E, Wood; song, " Good Company," Mr B, Gant j trio.
Misses and Master "Wabelin; violinboJb, " Cuckoo Vavaldi," Mr Popo; I 'JJtartelto, "Village Bolls," Mrs 11, Hawke and Miss Baillie, and Messrs Black and H. Hanke; song, 11 Down by the Kiver Side," Miss Waitu; song—" Home Boys Homo," Mr A. Keys; eoug —Miss A. Jackson; song —" Queen o£ the Earth," Mr T. J, Eoivse; harmonised chorus (by some of Mrs R. Butoher's pupils), Misses E, Wood, M. and C. Maguire, E. Kempton and Master N, Wood; song —^cgmio)—" Down went McUinnity," Mr Speakman, Hers occurred an interval of five minutos. Overture— Grey town Orohcstra; duet— 11 Pulaski's Banner," Misses E, Wood and 0. Maguire j song—"Big Bon," Mr R, C, Black; song (oomio)—Mr D, J. Duff; song—" To-morrow will be Friday," Mr R. Gant; song—" Then you'll remember me," Miss Waite; trio—" The Wreath," Messrs Black, T, J. Bowse and Gant; harmonised chorus (some of Mrs Butcher's pupils) —Misses E, Wood, E, Kempton, M. and 0. Maguire and Master N. Wood; violin solo, " Blue Bells of Scotland " (sfiih variations), Mr Pope; song, 'vW's Yarn,' 1 Mr J, F. Baillie; quartette, Mrs Hawke and Mies, Baillie and Messrs Black and H, Hawke. This ended tho programme, and votes of thanks wero passed to the performers and the chair, after which a verse of the National Anthem was sung. Mr JamesTweeddale, whoarranged this entertainment, has epeat a great deal of time and trouble, not only on this occasion but also at other times in working up funds for tho Church, and he deserves groat credit for the able manner in which he has done so, The concerts at Morrison's Bush are now becoming very popular and the next is looked forward to by everybody.
