TARATAHI-CARTERTON ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of jthe above Board was he'idon Saturday last, Present-Messrs H. E, Bunny, (Chairman), H. Braitbwaite, B. Morgan, E, W. Dorset, W. B, Allen, J.Eayner, Jas. Stevens and W. Miller. The minutes of tht previous meeting were read and confirmed. Tho Treasurer reported the banl overdraft, Ml, Beceipts sinoE last meeting £99 9s sd. CORRESPONDENCE inwards was received, from Mr A, Moody re state of Waihakeke road. The matter was left in the hands ol tho Warden.
From Mr Wl MoKenzio re some remuneration for- the extra Work in advertising special loans. Resolved that he be granted the sum of £o for the extra advertising in connection with the loans, the same to be charged to the general fund. From Mr Kerrinsgiving an estimate of the timber left on tho contract which he has jnst completed. From Mr W. H. Smith asking permission to out the grass on the swamp road for the year 1893, Permission granted.
From Moore Bros., asking thai the bush be felled on the road leading to their property, The reques was granted.
From Mrs Telford asking that the nameof her son Thomas be placed on the rate roll in the place of her own name. Granted.
The Clerk reported on the matter in respect to the East Coast Eoad. Resolved that Messrs Moore and Nitz be informed that the sum of £lO and £ls respectively will be granted for the repairs of Kaiwhata and East Coast JRoads, and that the matter be ltft in the hands of the Chairman. Mr Morgan presented his report in reference to the complaint made by Mr Zabell at (he last meeting skting that in his opinion Mr Zabell has no lecjal grounds for complaint, The overseer of roads also substantiated the report. Mr Zabell, who was in attendance, handed in a sketch showing where the natural course of the'water should be,
Outward correspondence from the letter hook was read and approved. Tenders for works through Messrs Miller and Martin's property at Maungahuia, 46 chains road formation and culverts, 82 ohuins road formation culverts, and 50 chains post and wire fencing were received. Mr Herrick's for 50 chains of fencing at 18s per chain was accepted, Mr Tobin's tender of £7l for 46 chains of road formation, and Mr Kernn's tender of LlB9 for the 82 chains formation were also accepted. The Chairman moved that Mr Conradsen be notified that if the contract taken by him for 18 chains of roadmaking is not completed in one month from date the Board will get the work done at his expense. Some accounts were passed for payment and tho meeting adjourned.
