Hawera, N.Z., September 29th, Our sale yards at Stratford were well filled with cattle on Friday, the 23rd inst, Mr Hann's dairy stock being amongst the number. There was a large attendance of buyers and bidding was very brink, most especially so for cows and heifers in calf, so that with few exceptions, most of the stock changed hands before leaving tbe yard. We quote 2-year-old steera £8 7s Cd to £Bl4s 6d; 12 to 18 months steers £llos to £2 7s Gd; springers £5 7s Cd to £6 15s; cows and heifers in calf £3 Ins to £4 10s; 18 months heifers £2 9s to £3 6s 6d. Wo held our monthly horse fair on Saturday, the 24th inst, when about 60 horses.wore entered for sale. These consisted chiefly of hacks of medium quality, good harness "and draught horses being in short supply, though any presont that showed fair breeding, elicited keen competition and realized satisfactory prices, As bidding was rather spirited, most of the horses were sold under the hammer, or immediately after the salo. We quoto draughts £l3 7s 6d to £26; light hnrness horses £7 2s Gd to £9 16s; hacks up to £lO 17s 6d, At our usual fortnightly Mtmnia sale there was a good entry of stock, tlio majority of which wero of a useful class, but owing to high reserves, the bulk of what was offered passed in under the hammer and very little changed hands before leaving the yards. We quote 2$ to 3 year bullocks £4 6s to £4 8s; 12 to )8 months mixed cattle £llss to £2lss; heifers in calf £3 3s Gd to £4 ss; choice dairy stock (belonging to Mr E, Newing) £8 to £8 ss,
