It is officially announced that tfa Murquis of Ripon supports the New* Zealand Ministry in the dispute with the Governor, and directs Lord Glasgow to appoint the members of the Legislative Council as desired by the Government. ' The Secretary of Stale for the Colonies, in his decision respecting the New Zealand Legislative Council appointments, does not censure Lord Glasgow for tho position he took lip. He considers that his attitude ii partly on the lines followed by Lord Onslow, but advises him that the demands of the Cabinet should be fully met.
